Collin O'Shea
Financial Advisor
From his background in accounting, Collin naturally approaches financial planning from an analytical point-of-view. We use a comprehensive planning process to understand a clients’ entire financial picture – across legal, accounting, insurance, and investment perspectives. However, it is critical to recognize that the human experience extends far beyond the data points.
Collin earned Bachelor of Accounting (2014) and Master of Taxation (2015) degrees from Bentley University while playing four years of Division II Lacrosse. He began his professional career and earned his CPA designation with Boston accounting firms specializing in tax consulting and compliance. This period also included time away from accounting for a bucket list item: a thru hike of the 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail.
In 2019, to expand the scope of knowledge, value, and services he provides to his clients, he joined Lincoln Financial Advisors as an independent financial advisor. In 2024, the PS&E team changed broker-dealers and joined Commonwealth Financial Network in an effort to keep the best technology, resources, and independence for our clients.
While maintaining the CPA designation, Collin holds Series 66 and Series 7 registrations as well as Life, Accident and Health licenses. He is currently studying for the March 2025 CFP(R) exam.
Today, he is back where he grew up, outside of Rochester, NY - now with his wife, Jenny, son, Patrick, and chocolate lab, Bates. Collin enjoys challenging himself outside of work with ultra-marathons and rooting for the Buffalo Bills, in addition to relaxing with golf, books, and craft beer.
